Trades & Partnerships – Join The Markon Group Team
At The Markon Group, we believe that every home we build is only as strong as the people who help create it.
Our craftsmanship, reputation, and long-term success are built on the skills, integrity, and dedication of our trades. That’s why we are always looking to connect with the right people — qualified, dependable, and trustworthy professionals who want to be part of something bigger than just a job.
We’re not simply looking for subcontractors. We’re building a network of long-term partners who share our family values of trust, reliability, and pride in a job well done.
If you’re a self-starter who takes ownership of your work, values professionalism, and is committed to growing alongside a family custom home builder with a reputation for quality, then we want to hear from you.

Get your questions answered here.
Do you employ trades full-time or contract only?
We only engage independent contractors and trade businesses — not full-time employees. Each partnership is on a subcontractor basis, allowing you to run your own business while working with us on agreed projects.
We are looking for long-term, dependable contractors to engage with our projects on an ongoing basis. We value loyalty and reliability as we continue to grow and develop more projects with a trusted team of trade partners.
What licences and qualifications do I need?
You must hold all relevant Australian and Queensland trade licences, qualifications, and tickets for your profession.
For example:
Carpenters must hold a current QBCC licence.
Electricians must hold an Electrical Contractor Licence.
Plumbers must be licensed for water, gas, and sewer work.
We will request copies of your licences before you begin work.
Do I need insurance?
Yes. All subcontractors must hold valid Public Liability Insurance (minimum $10M cover recommended) and provide a current Certificate of Currency.
Depending on your trade, you may also need Workers’ Compensation insurance if you employ staff.
Will I get consistent work?
As a family custom home builder expanding across South-East Queensland, we aim to provide long-term opportunities.
While we don’t offer “set shifts” like employment, we engage contractors on a repeat and ongoing basis.
Those who are dependable, professional, and committed to loyalty will see the greatest continuity of work.
How will I be paid?
We pride ourselves on prompt and transparent payment schedules.
All terms are agreed upfront in your subcontractor contract.
Payment is made on time upon completion of agreed stages of work.
Where are your projects located?
Most of our projects are in South-East Queensland, including:
South Brisbane
North Brisbane
Gold Coast
You’ll need to be prepared to travel to site locations within these regions.
Do I need to supply my own tools and equipment?
Yes. All subcontractors are expected to provide their own trade tools, vehicles, and equipment.
You must also ensure your equipment is compliant with Australian safety standards.
What safety requirements do you have?
Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) is non-negotiable.
All contractors must:
Hold a current Construction White Card.
Follow WHS regulations and site safety plans.
Supply and use appropriate PPE.
Attend any required toolbox talks or inductions before starting.
